fish tanks

A good freshwater aquarium heater is one of the most significant tools that you can have in your tank.  Along with balanced pH and correct lighting and a good filter, that is .  It's critical to have a heater that will maintain an even temperature in the tank.

Freshwater fish come from tropical waters that are warm, often between 74 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.  So it is important to have a stable temperature in your tank inside that range.  Your fish need to be in a cosy environment in order for them to flourish.  It's important for their longevity for them to have stress-free living arrangements.

Heaters are used to keep the water temperature constant.  The temperature of the room that the aquarium is kept in will fluctuate, and heaters will keep that range more uniform, and your fish will be happier, fitter, and thrive in your tank.

There are 3 main types of freshwater aquarium heaters that you'll be considering when you set up your tank :

 Immersible or Hang-On Heaters

Immersible heaters are probably the most typical types of heaters that are used.  Mainly because they are easily found.  And they are also cheap.

these types of heaters essentially hang onto the back or side of the aquarium, hanging into the water.  There's a temperature control that's kept above the water.  These varieties of heaters work just fine , and are really good for beginning aquarists.

Immersible heaters can be an eyesore, though, because you will see them, and some individuals do not like that.  Plenty of folk prefer the heater to be concealed.  Luckily , there are other sorts of heaters to consider that aren't as easily seen .

 Submersible Heater

Submersible heater means that you can submerse the entire heater into the aquarium.  The heater is completely sealed so that it can be totally decreased into the water.  The nice thing about these types of heaters is that they are unobtrusive.  You can conceal them behind rocks or plants and you will not spot them.

Submersible heaters can be costlier than immersible heaters, but many of them are quite cheap.  These types of heaters are way more trustworthy and can easily maintain a rather more consistent temperature in your tank.  They're user-friendly, slim–so that you do not spot them as much, and relatively inexpensive.

 Filter Heater

The filter heater is a really pleasant option to think about to maintain an even temperature in your aquarium.  It heats the water as it moves the water thru a filter, so fundamentally accomplishes a couple of things immediately.  These heaters are far more expensive, but does double duty as you won't need a filter, too.

One of the large pluses of this type of heater is that it is set up outside of your aquarium, so it doesn't take up space in your tank and you don't have to look at it within the tank!

if you're a beginning aquarist, start with the immersible heater, and then when you've done a little research and gotten used to the options out there, move onto the submersible heater or perhaps the filter heaters.
